PREP & AFTER CARE
How to Prepare for Your Sugaring Appointment
Preparing your body for sugaring hair removal will help you get the best results. Here's everything you need to know before, during, and after your sugaring treatments.
Pre-Sugaring:
-
Your hair should be at least 1/4 inch (3 mm) long for the sugaring paste to grip it effectively.
-
Don't trim or shave.
-
Don't exfoliate your skin for 3 days before your treatment.
-
Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, or self-tanners for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
-
Do not apply lotion, oil, or other products to your skin on the day of your appointment.
Between Appointments:
-
Book an appointment every 4-5 weeks to maintain results.
-
Don't shave, tweeze, use depilatory creams, or wax between sugaring appointments.
-
Gently exfoliate your skin 3x per week to remove dead skin cells.
-
Regularly moisturize your skin after bathing or showering.
Sugaring Aftercare:
-
Avoid hot showers or baths for 24-48 hours after your sugaring session.
-
Wear loose, comfy clothing that won't rub against your skin.
-
After 24-48 hours, gently exfoliate your skin to prevent ingrown hairs
-
Don't work out, play sports, or tan for at least 24 hours. Sweating is a NO-NO!
-
Keep your skin moisturized with a gentle, fragrance-free lotion or oil to soothe and hydrate the skin.
-
Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours after your sugaring session.
Use the tips above to keep your skin looking smoother for longer!
